A Plot to Dethrone President Rodrigo Duterte?

There have been talks that there exists a plot to dethrone the current President Rodrigo Duterte. It is said that the people from the "Yellow Group" are hatching a scheme whereby the current President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte would be ousted. This move would certainly be beneficial to the “Yellow Group” (a name which was conceived to be descriptive of the Aquino’s and their supporters, such as the Liberal Party). If the sitting President Rodrigo Duterte were to be ousted as the President of the Philippines, the person first in the Chain of Succession, the Vice President of the Philippines, Vice President Leni Robredo, would become the new President of the Philippines. Again, that is if President Rodrigo Duterte were to be ousted or somehow abdicates his position.

This may not be far from reality. It is evident that a lot of people are pushing for the ouster of President Rodrigo Duterte. They are asking for this due to the growing number of alleged Extra-Judicial Killings happening in the country being attributed to be the work of the Administration of President Rodrigo Duterte. It is likewise noticeable that most of the people who are against President Rodrigo Duterte are from or connected to the previous administration of the former President Noynoy Aquino, as spearheaded by Senator Leila De Lima who was a firm supporter of the Yellow Administration.

One clear example of this is the presentation of Matobato in the Senate Committee of Justice’s inquiry.  Though,  believe, such presentation caused more harm to Senator Leila De Lima than President Duterte. The statements of Matobato could be seen as mostly hearsay and personal views, thus could be construed as lying and unbelievable. His credibility was destroyed by the questioning and statements of Senator Panfilo Lacson and Senator Alan Cayetano.

As I may have stated in some of my previous posts, I have nothing against VP Leni Robredo. I believe that she is a good person, though I cannot comment on her being a politician. But, her good name may be smeared by the negative moves of the members of the faction to which she is also a member of.

Off topic, I am a Marcos fan, a loyalist. Maybe, that’s why I still clinging to the idea that Bongbong Marcos is the Vice President of the Philippine Republic. He still has a pending protest against VP Robredo, thus hope is still not lost. Though there is no news about the status of the protest. It seems to have been quieted down in order for a full acceptance of Leni Robredo as the Vice President of the Philippines. I, on the other hand, am still not convinced.

Back on to the topic. There may be a pattern to the movements made by the Yellow Group that may be indicative of the plan to oust President Duterte, but such pattern still is not clear enough to be construed as true. It is true that the Yellow Group would highly benefit from the ouster of President Rodrigo Duterte, but such is still not clear proof that they are actually planning to oust the President.

Let us wait for more improvements in the coming days. Maybe, the pattern will be clear by then.
